Our Story

The Meow Maid began in Buffalo, NY with a straightforward goal: to offer thoughtful, dedicated care designed specifically for cats. Founded and run by Melissa, the business grew out of her desire to provide trustworthy, feline-focused pet sitting—something she pours genuine heart into every day.

In addition to her work with clients’ cats, Melissa is deeply involved in independent rescue. She traps and rehabilitates stray cats on her own, covering their veterinary needs and fostering them until they’re ready to find permanent homes. She also supports local cat rescues, volunteering her time wherever extra hands are needed.

Outside of her rescue and pet care work, Melissa loves playing guitar, writing music, and attending live shows. She’s also a lifelong car enthusiast, passionate about events like car meets and Rallycross. Alongside her fiancé, Matt, she co-owns Phase Detail, a mobile car detailing business. More than anything, she treasures quiet time at home with Matt and their four beloved cats.
