Our Story

The Meow Maid was founded in Buffalo, NY, with a clear mission: to provide exceptional, cat-focused care. Created and operated by Melissa, the business was born out of a need for trustworthy, high-quality pet sitting tailored exclusively to cats. From day one, it’s been a true labor of love.

Melissa works independently to rescue stray cats—humanely trapping, socializing, and fostering them until they’re ready for adoption. She also lends her time and care at Tabby Town Cat Adoption Center.

 Outside of her work with cats, Melissa enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and going to shows. A lifelong car enthusiast, she is passionate about automotive events such as car meets and Rallycross, and co-owns a mobile car detailing business, Phase Detail, which she operates alongside her fiancé, Matt. Above all, she values quality time at home with him and their four beloved cats.
