Cats are creatures of habit and prefer the comforts of their own home. Disruptions to their schedule or their environment can trigger unnecessary anxiety and stress, leading to behavior problems and sickness. Changes are very stressful and frightening for cats as they don’t understand why their routine has suddenly changed. Leaving your cat in the hands of a professional in-home cat sitter allows your kitty to remain comfortable and secure in their space while you’re away.
Providing companionship to your cat while you’re away is one of the most loving things you can do for them. It is also a vital part of their mental health and emotional well-being. Cats are social creatures that require regular interactive play and bonding time. Having a cat care specialist spend time with your cat while you’re away can reduce separation anxiety, ease depression, give release to pent up energy and prevent boredom which can lead to destructive behavior such as biting and scratching.
The Meow Maid ensures your feline companion maintains their normal routine, helping them to stay happy, healthy and safe and secure until you return!
The Meow Maid is passionate about cats, so much so that cats are the only animal we cater to in this business! By exclusively serving cats, it allows us to focus all of our experience on providing nothing but the absolute highest quality in-home cat care available.
A dishonesty bond gives you peace of mind that you will be reimbursed if anything is stolen from your home. Anyone that has workers enter their home should be sure that they have a dishonesty bond.
We also carry a liability insurance policy that protects from financial loss in the event that we were liable for accidents that occur while caring for our clients cats. Any responsible, professional business should carry liability insurance.
We are happy to provide you with proof of insurance and our bond. We can easily email you a copy of our certificates.
As a cat sitter, we visit our clients’ homes once or twice a day while the client is away. In addition to feeding and providing water for our client's cat, we provide enrichment activities, administer any necessary medications, maintain a clean litter box, and give daily updates to our clients. We identify situations in which a cat’s behavior or health needs immediate attention and communicate regularly with you to keep you well informed.
We collect a copy of keys to your home and go over any security alarm systems during your Meet & Greet. If your sitter must make a separate trip to pick up or drop off keys, there will be a key fee of $10 per trip. We can help you figure out an arrangement to make key exchange more convenient for everyone, while avoiding fees.
Note: We do not store client keys or hold onto client keys once service has been completed. Client must obtain his/her keys within 48 hours from the last date of service.
If an emergency should occur, your cat sitter will follow the emergency instructions you provided on the service agreement and try to contact you and/or your emergency contact person immediately.
Please make sure you have left enough supplies such as cat food, cat litter, medications, and treats to last the duration of your trip. If you are a repeat client, please be sure to inform your cat sitter of any changes in the health or routine of your feline companion.
We accept Credit Cards, Check, or ACH payments.
